Creating an atmosphere that embodies the essence of one of Sydney’s most diverse communities and delivering 237m² in 12 weeks meant getting the layout right from day one. 

From the moment patients and staff enter MADE Medical, they’re introduced to an open layout with clear circulation, intentionally designed to feel calm, full of character, and accessible to patients of all needs. 

Strategic spatial planning places the reception at the heart of the clinic, giving staff clear sightlines across the waiting area with easy access to consultation rooms and giving patients a clear directional flow through the space. 

The reception desk greets everyone with a textured relief in MADE’s signature blue, one of many colourful design elements adding life to a cosy waiting area that feels purpose-built to feel like home in the Inner West, not strictly clinical.

Akord applied a consistent interior palette throughout the clinic that reflects MADE’s Marrickville environment, built on a strong neutral base and embellished with a wide range of textures and patterns in the colours of MADE’s own branding and logo.

Bright geometric textiles and a multicolour wave ceiling help soften the rest of the area. When the overhead acoustic baffles are combined with the room’s soft furnishings, they help calm the space and absorb ambient noise to support patient privacy during confidential conversations. 

Considered material selection also supports professional-grade infection control in every one of MADE’s clinical spaces. From treatment room beds to floors and door handles, every surface Akord used is both durable and easy to clean for optimal maintenance efficiency.
